Walking on the Web

I have been digging around lately for some sites devoted to sharing a personal walk with Christ (for the unchurched, faith is a journey and we follow Jesus on that path, thus "walk" with Christ). Whereas time in prayer is personal time with the Lord, I am searching for a conference call of sorts. I believe that God intends for us to share in our struggles, and be encouraged by the wisdom He reveals through others. We are after all considered one body.

Here are some people and places I have come across. If you have something good to share, please leave a comment with the URL or send me an email.

Words from The Word
Fellow Blogger, Bryan Shouse has an interesting mix of perspectives on his site, A Daily Walk. Consistent with the Blog's title, Bryan shares a great deal of scripture with his thoughts. I enjoy his writing style; it is fresh and highly accessible. A recent post about seeking Jesus for salvation starts with a simple message:

There is a kitten somewhere outside of my door. I can hear it calling. However, when I go out to look for it it becomes quiet and hides. It doesn't realize that I could help it; it is afraid of me. And so we act towards God sometimes.
A nice commentary on a complex message. See the entire post here. Thanks, Bryan.

A formal education
For a little more focused study, Shepherdboy offers My Daily Walk, which follows a more traditional study format, allowing the reader to meditate on the passages themselves. From his own statement of purpose:
It is my conviction based on my personal experience in discipleship, that if we are faithful to seek the Lord's Word and guidance on a daily basis, the Lord is faithful and will reveal it to us. Which lectionary to use is not the important factor, except that a lectionary which prepares us for worship the following Sunday is useful; rather it is important that we make ourselves available on a daily basis to meet with the Lord to seek his word and guidance, and then apply it daily, one day at a time.
It is beautiful that Jesus will meet with us, wherever we are at. I think that is what a daily walk is all about.

In the "Not Really a Walk, but a Good Site Anyway" category:
Those in the tech and gadget know, know Slashdot, "news for nerds, stuff that matters." Christians bloggers get Christdot. They are community blogs, where many can post. Not really a personal walk, but work a visit.
