Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

A missionary visiting from Italy preached at our church today from Acts 16; the message discussed how God uses our weakness to reveal His strength. What caught me most was his closing. Church is useful for encouragement and growth, but it is not how we are saved. The word of God is needed for grounding and guidance, but it is not how we are saved. Only though Jesus Christ are we saved.

This thought helped me consider again our role as ambassadors of Christ. In my desire to share the grace of God, I must remember one thing. My skill and strength cannot bring people to salvation; only Jesus, and Him alone.
