Lead or Follow?

Just a quick thought as I begin my morning reading of Jeremiah; do I lead my life or follow the will of God? More specifically, am I looking for God to bless the steps I choose, or am I tracing the steps that Jesus tread before me? When God goes ahead, nothing is impossible, but where we tread alone, it seems, nothing is certain.

"Ah, Sovereign LORD," I said, "I do not know how to speak; I am only a child."
But the LORD said to me, "Do not say, 'I am only a child.' You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you," declares the LORD. (Jer 1:6-8 NIV)

He has a plan. Will we take part, or part ways?
