Three Hearts
I received a response from my initial image for the 1 Corinthians verse; unfortunately it was not what they were looking for. The points were valid, as the spring saplings focused too much on a life that never was. As this work is meant to be both memorial and encouraging, something more representational is needed.
I was given a copy of the letter the parents wrote to the three children, and after some tears, I came up with this sketch. It is a continuation of the center panel in my work on Hebrews 4. Like the previous sketch, this work is intended for three separate panels. The hearts will be done to look like stained glass, and the backgrounds will fit together as one. We will see if this is more appropriate to purpose.
On a side note, I was asked today to do another smaller work. I really enjoy creating paintings with a person in mind, as it allows for the development of relationships as well as ideas. I should have a sketch up soon for this.
