Three as One: blocks of color

Some initial steps are complete in the underpainting:

I have decided to keep with a monochromatic theme for this work, as I hope to highlight the line over the blocks of color. It should provide a nice effect after the glazing.

It feels good to be able to put some time in to the painting. Intersession (May-mester for some) just started for graduate school, so I have a class every night following work for the next three weeks. Unfortunately art is the first item to get cut when budgeting for time, so any opportunity is wonderful.
